Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development
B.Sc. Retail Management and Information Technology (B.Sc. RMIT)
The Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development emphasises competency-based education through practical training, industry exposure, and experiential learning. The Department currently offers the B.Sc. Retail Management and Information Technology (B.Sc. RMIT) programme, which integrates retail management, business practices, and information technology to meet the evolving needs of the retail and digital commerce sectors.
The programme equips students with relevant knowledge, technical and managerial skills, and professional values. Through student-centric teaching, internships, projects, practical training, and industry interactions, students gain real-world exposure and develop workplace competencies. The curriculum covers retail operations, marketing, consumer behaviour, supply chain and logistics, e-retailing, and information technology, along with communication and entrepreneurial skills. Blended learning and innovative pedagogy further support inclusive, effective learning, preparing graduates for employment, entrepreneurship, and career development across retail and related sectors.
The programme has evolved from the earlier B.Voc. Retail Management and Information Technology programme and is now offered as B.Sc. Retail Management and Information Technology under the School of Vocational Studies and Skill Development.
