Dr Parimala G. Kamatar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the Central University of Andhra Pradesh. She holds a PhD from the Central University of Karnataka, where her research focused on gender-variant expressions in contemporary transgender narratives. Her academic interests include Transgender and LGBTQ+ Studies, Gender Studies, Folk and Performance Studies, Drama, Theatre, and Translation Studies.

She has over a decade of teaching experience across various institutions, including the Central University of Karnataka, MIT ADT University in Pune, Khaja Bandanawaz University, and Akkamahadevi Women’s University. Dr Parimala has published several research articles in various journals, presented more than twelve research papers, and participated in over ten seminars, webinars, and workshops at various levels. She has guided several postgraduate dissertations and served on organising committees for two international conferences.

She has contributed significantly to academic and administrative development, serving as Head (In-Charge) of the Department of English, Coordinator of the PG Diploma in ELT, Convener of the Women’s Cell and Students' Counselling Cell, Warden (Girls Hostel), editor of the Newsletter- Reviso, and an active member of various academic bodies.

She is a Life Member of IACLALS and a member of ELTAI, GAIN, Association for English Studies in India, and IACLSC. Beyond academia, she is engaged in extension activities, theatre performance, and community development initiatives.
