“ISRO WORKING TO ESTABLISH AN OBERVATORY AT CENTRAL UNIV OF AP CAMPUS” – Hon'ble VC PROF SA KORI

Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh, Ananthapuramu revealed that the Indian Space Research Organization is working towards setting up a Science Observatory in the upcoming 500 acre permanent campus of the University at Janthaluru in Ananthapuramu.


CUAP is fast gaining momentum after starting with six academic programmes, four undergraduate and two postgraduate, with less than hundred students one transit campus representing 9 States, it now has eleven programmes with two campuses for 450 students representing 19 States. And the target is to increase it to 20 programmes in the next three years, he said.


Further elaborating that when the Observatory comes, it will be a boon to not just the students of CUAP but also to the student community of Ananthapuramu and surrounding areas.


Speaking on the occasion of the University celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Prof. Kori exhorted the students to contribute to social, cultural and economic development of the country. Quoting from the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s speech at DRDO, he said that Modi Ji agreed with Winston Churchill when Churchill had said that - The empires of the future are going to be empires of the mind.


Prof. Kori hoisted the Tricolour at the transit campus of the University following a march past by the students. Cultural programmes were held by the enthusiastic students of the University, prizes were distributed for sports and extra-curricular activities conducted in the weeks preceding the Event. A vote of thanks was provided by Ms. Ourapalli Pranathi.


CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF ANDHRA PRADESH STUDENTS & STAFF THIRANGA RALLY AT ANANTHAPURAMU CLOCK TOWER

Following the ‘Har Ghar Thiranga’ flag distribution activity, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the students and staff of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh, Ananthapuramu carried out a ‘Thiranga Rally’ on Sunday from the Clock Tower to the Municipal office at Ananthapuramu. The more than 200 member rally, with each one carrying the National Flag at hand, walked the main street of the town enthusiastically chanting slogans that had once charged freedom fighters to stand up against the British 75 years ago. The rally was also taken to Syndicate Nagar near the University’s transit campus on Ballari road where ‘Prabhat Pheri’ was conducted

CUAP STUDENTS & STAFF ‘HAR GHAR THIRANGA’ INITIATIVE TO DISTRIBUTE 600 FLAGS IN TWO ADOPTED VILLAGES

The students and faculty of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, conducted a ‘Har Ghar Thiranga’ initiative in two of the villages it has adopted near its upcoming permanent campus at Janthuluru, Ananthapuramu. The contingent lead by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. SA Kori visited Janthuluru and Reddyvaripalli to distribute 600 flags. The Mandal Parishad Primary School at Janthuluru welcomed the Vice Chancellor and the Central University students and presented a brief cultural programme to kick start the event. Flags flying on each household of the two villages was a sight to behold.

CUAP STUDENTS PRESENT PROGRAMME ON ALL INDIA RADIO

The students of Central University of Andhra Pradesh recorded a programme for All India Radio, Ananthapuramu Station on the occasion of 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav'. The programme will be broadcast at 9.05 am on Sunday, 14th August. The programme will also be available on AIR Ananthapuramu Youtube Channel and on the 'News On Air' App of All India Radio, Ananthapuramu after it is broadcast on Sunday.

Central University of Andhra Pradesh conducts Seminar on Glory of Telugu Literature as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

Central University of Andhra Pradesh, Ananthapuramu organized a seminar on “75 years of Indian Independence – the glory of Telugu literature” under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. S.A. Kori. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, distinguished speaker, former Vice Chancellor of S.V. University, Padmashri and Moorthydevi Awardee, Prof. Kolakaluri Enoch, said that this is the right time to rededicate ourselves and pledge towards making India into a developed and prosperous nation without disparities in all aspects of lives. He called on everyone to place society higher than the self to realize the true essence of independence. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Bavaiah and Prof. Kennedy. The event was well attended by all the faculty and students of the University. The seminar was organized by faculty of Telugu.
